Happy Barista x handmade by abi

I am super honoured to have been asked to make the cups for my wonderful friends at Happy Barista. Firstly for their new shop in Knaresborough and also for their new roastery in Harrogate. I am constantly in awe of how hard Tom and Dana work and I am so proud to have made the cups for such a high quality business.

The finished cups - 4oz, 6oz and 8oz I used high quality porcelain to create a clean finish and to mimic the paper-white quality of takeaway cups. These cups are high fired and glazed with a transparent glaze to make them easy to clean, durable & suitable for dishwashers

  1. Lots of freshly thrown pots

  2. Porcelain pots going in for their second bisque firings to lock in the underglaze. I can't apply the logo and tagline onto unfired clay but when first experimenting with making these pots, realised that I also couldn't clear glaze onto freshly underglazed pots - this is why I bisque fire twice before glaze firing once.

8oz cup with its inspiration! A takeaway latte cup from Happy Barista (I definitely need to take a photo of a porcelain one next to a paper cup with the Happy Barista logo on!)

Lots of 8oz latte cups waiting to be packed up and delivered to Happy Barista.

I am super proud of these cups, they're fiddly, they're perfectly sized, they're clean and they make me feel like a good quality potter :D

Thank you Happy Barista for a wonderful opportunity to make these cups, they have made me a better, more patient and proud potter :)
